TILOTILO FAOA HAS BEEN MISSING SINCE JUNE 2, 2012 AND HIS FAMILY WANTS CLOSURE – LESSONS LEARNT.

The family of Tilotilo Faoa has been waiting since June 2, 2012 for his return.

All through this time – tremendous efforts; in the form of contacting people, following leads, posting flyers here, there, everywhere – doing anything possible to bring closure to this case.

Most importantly praying with many faith based groups – individuals and groups praying hard for the return of Tilotilo Faoa.

Some of us have been meeting in groups to carrying out certain plans to see how must to cover certain areas – following the leads we have been getting. Others are supporting the family – at this time of need.

What most of us have learned from this experience – it that when a loved one is missing – all hell breaks loose, and there is pandemonium.

Someone must take charge and so far we all are on track. Doing a good job and keeping the stress are a minimal.

One of the greatest lesson learned from this particular experience – it that some of the more astute Polynesians – must formulate a model – to address such concerns in the future. We now see this need – and some of us must step up to prepare ourselves for future – incidents of this nature.

In this case it took as some time to put full pressure on the Golden Gate Bridge District.

And it was only after a week that we figured out – how to do that.

We, could with the San Francisco Police Department immediately.

Our hands were tied – because the incident report – a Missing Report 120 439 973 was taken by Office Bautista – Badge Number 18191 who works for the California Highway Patrol. Everything concerning this case was under the jurisdiction of the California Highway Patrol. Their head quarters in across the Bridge – and this makes traveling and contacting them in person – difficult.

In any case; like in the case we are all dealing – it is important to have the ability to exert pressure immediately on the authorities and this can only be done if you have contact numbers, and know the people who are heads of this organizations and willing to help  – and bring about quick results.

Since, some clothing was found on the Golden Gate  Bridge – in this case the  Golden Gate Bridge that comes under the Golden Gate Bridge District authority – we had to deal with the Bridge Directors – who meet twice a month.

The second and fourth Friday – and we did this by meeting the Directors in force – and expressing our concern on June 22, 2012 at 10 am.

The Golden Gate Bridge District Manager is Mr. Kary H. Witt.

He is cooperating with us all.

He can be reached with pertinent questions – he is a busy man; and we do not want to waste his time. His telephone number is :

415.923.2240

The California Highway Mission Person telephone is: 415. 924. 1100

The incident report was taken by Office Bautista and his Badge Number is: 18191.

I am noting the numbers and contact so that others may know – when they call the authorities what to mention – you need to know the facts – the first name and last name of the person missing correct spelling – the Missing Incident Number –  it helps if you know the Officer who took the report.

It helps if you have added information – in this case the clothing and some other information we gathered days after the incident.

The Missing Person telephone in handled personally Monday to Friday – 8 am to 5 pm

It makes it difficult to call and leave a message on weekends.

We can demand that this number be manned – all week long – from 8 am to 5 pm – to begin with – and then 24/7.

Only those who feel the pain – truly understand – why I am noting this and why we must demand that something be done about this situation at hand.

We could demand that Mr. Kary H. Witt of the Golden Gate Bridge District look into this.

We could organize ourselves and speak at the next Golden Gate Bridge District meeting – during Public Comment – we did very well last Friday, June 22, 2012.

You can avail of all the information on the Golden Gate Bridge District website : http://www.goldengate.org

We must have a model to support Polynesian families that encounter such difficulties stemming from loved ones been missing, shooting and killings – which are becoming rampant.

The Church Pastors must be given a presentation – and the Elders must speak up.

There are many difficulties that families have to suffer – because of the changing times – we call them the ” signs of the times”.

Those who have gone to college and have education must take a lead with the more educated informing the  Pastors, the Matais, the Elders – to bring about this qualitative change.

This case has taken a lot of my time – however, I know that the Polynesians need my help – and I am ready to help more so that in the future we learn from this unique – experience – and develop an unique model.

Talofa.
